How to locate missing images in iPhoto?

In iPhoto I've switched to an earlier library that has very early images for our family, but I'm getting a triangle with exclamation point for images, or for video, that a resource is missing.

What is iPhoto looking for? In example, the file type it's after.

I'm sure I have whatever it is on an external drive somewhere, but just need an idea of what I'm seeking.

Type the name or number into spotlight and it should come up with a couple different selections, depending on how many photos you've taken. At least one should have something like "—masters" after it and holding the cursor on it will bring up a box showing the path. Just double click and you should be able to retrieve the photo from the place where iphoto hid it. This usually happens if you modifyy a photo in some way and just save without pointing it to specific location. I don't know of any other way to get o this hidden file.

And we should consider every day lost on which we have not danced at least once.
