IOS7 on an iPhone4

I know it is supported, but I'm just wondering if anyone here has done it.

If so, How is the performance, and how is the battery life so far ?

TIA

I'm using it on a 4S, updated without a hitch. I'm really liking the new features and interface. Be aware that not all features work on the 4. I'm not sure if it will load on a 4 or not, but the 4S works great, no problems so far.
I also put it on my iPad2...same results, no problems.

I upgraded my iPad 4 and I wish I could go back to iOS 6.
The iPad now looks like a Samsung Android device with all it's pastel colors. Meh!

Thanks for that. I have just upgraded my 4 to 6.1.3, and after reading that article, I think I will be sticking with it for a while. Not sure about upgrading the iPad 4 I have.

I have it on a 16GB iP4 and it's working fine. Most things are faster as I did a wipe and restore because it has only received OTA updates since those became available and was sluggish. Go ahead and believe the doom and gloom for the iPhone 4 if you like but it's working well for me with no appreciable difference in battery life. A couple of the animations in the OS give the feel (and perhaps the reality) of slower response akin to the ars article but it's pretty much the same phone with a new skin on it.

Biggest OS gripes are the icons in Safari are ugly and not as well thought-out as the icons in the rest of the OS and the fade-on upon waking feels slow. The opening and closing of apps and folders feels more integrated than before and most of the OS changes seem to be at least the same if not improvements. Aside from my opinions about Safari's icons, its behavior of minimizing the non-web screen area in portrait mode is a welcome improvement and something I've wanted for a while now.

Just do it!

the fade-on upon waking feels slow

Same for me on my 4S. Not real slow, but a bit slower than other animations.

On iPad 5: I agree about the Safari icons. I don't care for them. Also not 100% crazy about the look of mail. It reminds me of Office365.com/owa although not as bad.

richorlin I think I agree with you about the look. I'm trying to keep an open mind but my initial reaction isn't good. I do like the simple lines and lack of unnecessary graphics but the color scheme is very cartoonish. I wish it was customizable.

I read the ars technica article yesterday. One iPhone 4 is still on 5 and jailbroken to boot so I can enjoy unlimited data tethering; the other has iOS 6 but I won't be upgrading based on the reduced battery life and slower system performance for booting and launching apps and lag.

I need a phone to perform. I don't need splashy graphics.
