How can I tell a Mac/PC ATI Radeon 3870 from a flashed PC only version 3870?

Having some issues... Googled to no avail.
I had the stock ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT in my MacPro along with this 3870, but I tossed the 2600 because it was ( or should I say appeared) dead. After discovering that some people flashed a PC-only-3870 for their Mac Pros, I am now curious about my 3870 potentially being the problem.
This is what my Mac says about my "BLUE" 3870/

ATI Radeon HD 3870:
Chipset Model: ATI Radeon HD 3870
Type: GPU
Bus: PCIe
Slot: Slot-1
PCIe Lane Width: x16
VRAM (Total): 512 MB
Vendor: ATI (0x1002)
Device ID: 0x9501
Revision ID: 0x0000
ROM Revision: 113-B3390F-270
EFI Driver Version: 01.00.270

Thanks

"Blue" is the right color for the ATI Mac&PC Edition 3870, do you have two dual-link DVI ports with a S-video port between them? There are reports of cooling problems with this card, ATI opted for a single slot design that does not exhaust externally. I would check that the cooling fan is working and the card clear of dust and lint.

If you are unable to resolve your issue the link below to applemacanix on ebay may be of interest, he sells both new and refurbished 2600 xt as well as others for Mac. I purchased one of his new 2600 xt's to replace my fourth failed Nvidia 8800 now that my applecare ran out on them and it is working like a champ. I asked him about the new designation and he apparently bought up some in anticipation of market demand. Everything checked out just fine.

Yes my card matches your description. I will blow off the dust and see if that helps.

hal, this brings me back to my question as far as how do we know for sure which card is flashed?
I keep googling and have still not found a definitive way to tell.

I question how closely you looked at his listings? Here is link to card I bought and it does not appear to be anything but what he represented it to be: namely a new Mac specific card. Given his long eBay history with extremely high ratings I have a lot more faith in him than your curt dismissal of him as a fraud. My card works fine and a lot of other satisfied buyers agree. As I remember I did a little preliminary research when received my card and it was as represented. I also contacted him with several questions prior to sale and my impression was he is straight forward and honest. Your quick assessment of Sleazy seems a bit shallow and with little support of your accusations. I am sure if loveshine is interested he can contact the seller and get answers just like I did.

I don't know the 3870, but I looked at a couple of cards that I know that these below at least are not apple cards. Apple cards don't have serial ports and the 4870 below should have a minidisplayport and DVI.

But there are others there that do seem to be real, but at insane prices
