Current favorite tv show?

My current favorite is Psych. It's a silly show but highly entertaining. The season finale last year was a two hour musical. Hilarious. [www.imdb.com]

What your current favorite?

Homeland. Actually the only TV show we watch. We make it a family policy never to follow more than one or two TV shows at a time...we have better things to do..

"In science it often happens that scientists say, 'You know that's a really good argument; my position is mistaken,' and then they would actually change their minds and you never hear that old view from them again. They really do it. It doesn't happen as often as it should, because scientists are human and change is sometimes painful. But it happens every day. I cannot recall the last time something like that happened in politics or religion." (1987) -- Carl Sagan

Psych is not current. It ended. Did you miss the finale?

Current favorite is Rick and Morty. It's between seasons. Every day that new episodes do not appear while I wait impatiently for Dan Harmon to end his drunken lunatic Dungeons & Dragons tour and devote every waking hour of the rest of his life to making more episodes is sad and depressing.

I just watched the first disc of the first season of Shameless. It was hilarious, but it made me cringe.

I don't really have a favorite TV show. I have a whole bunch of TV shows in my Netflix queue. I'll watch a disc of one show, and maybe 2 or 3 months later I'll watch the next disc. I know that many here like to binge watch TV shows, but not me.

The League. And Wife and I watch it together.

Everything just seems so... predictable?

First 3 seasons of SoA were great (except for that foray to Ireland, WTF was that) and it felt like it actually "ended" when they got their revenge at the end... really wasn't sure why there needed to be more seasons? Except for maybe women viewers to swoon over Charlie. Haven't watched it since.

My wife pretty watches all the dramasl. Blacklist, Scandal, Dead, Homeland, SoA, Americans, Forever, Chicgo PD/Fire, Following, Ray Donovan and etc.

I didn't know Psych was canceled. I just started season 8 so I've got a few episodes left to enjoy. I did a quick google and saw it may come back as a TV movie.

The older TV series I've watched seem to have 20-30 episodes per season. Some had more. Current TV series can be as short as 12 episodes! Legend comes to mind as an example. My wife and I have a fairly long list of shows we watch together but I would say we watch around 4 episodes per week. We need the long list to get that many actual shows per week.

Good luck to sts everyone.

I've taken to "binge" watching shows (waiting a few seasons in, then watching 1-3 episodes an evening until current..) so I catch on late to stuff.

Game of Thrones
Sherlock (with a whole FOUR episodes per "season", and only one "season" per 18 months...)
Doctor Who
Game of Thrones
Forever (decided to watch the pilot, got hooked, now I have to wait for them to make more!).
Castle (wearing a LITTLE thin here and there, but still a lot of fun).

But, I have to get back to an episode of day of Magnum P.I... smiling smiley

I try to catch the weather in the morning on one of the local news programs.
I can hear the TV ( and see it from some parts of the kitchen) so It's rather easy to miss when you don't actually sit and watch the TV.

Football and baseball - although I'm not much into it this year.

Special Report with Brett Baer

Haven't watched a series since reruns of Star Trek-TNG and The Rockford Files, and those were some years ago.

Love baseball, but didn't watch a single game this past summer. Did watch the first two games of the World Series this week. May miss tonight's and certainly Saturday's (going out to a bluegrass concert).

Walking Dead is my number one.

The Big Bang Theory is number two.

They're the only ones I really watch, and buy from iTunes.

Oh, and I do try to catch Conan every night. I watch that on his website commercial free. I really like that they stopped running commercials there. An hour show can be watched in about 40 minutes. thumbs up

Been watching Grace Point as well. Interesting to see David Tennant in a very different roll from the 10th Doctor.
Halfway through the 1st ep, I turns to the wife and says," It's Twin Peaks all over again."

And yes, I ripped off some of PG's list.

Also, from a long list of shows I watch:

NCIS
Bones
Blue Bloods
Castle
The Bridge
Covert Affairs
Doc Martin
QI
8 Out of 10 Cats
(and …Does Countdown)
Modern Family
2 Broke Girls
Big Bang Theory
You're the Worst
Arrow

Other shows, like Longmire, have been recently cancelled and aren't listed.

I never saw John Oliver when he was doing a segment, but watched the first few of his shows. His schtick grew old quickly and he frequently misrepresented content for his comedy, rather than "riffing" off of fact, which is always funnier.

Oh, and I'll see your Cheyenne and raise you Have Gun, Will Travel. No sugar footin' 'round here.

I miss Westerns.

Gracepoint is a remake of the British series Broadchurch.

I haven't watched the former, but Tennant was excellent in Broadchurch. As Broadchurch was nothing like Twin Peaks, I imagine it's much better fare than our version.

Comparing Twin Peaks to Gracepoint seems odd, as Peaks was basically a black comedy and not much of a drama. I would expect Gracepoint to be a fairly strong drama.

Broadchurch was excellent. The Brits really know how to do drama, and there's not much in American television that comes even close.

I like Tennant, but I'm smiling a little because his American accent is apparently lacking. This is refreshing considering the number of Brits who steal jobs from American actors, using flawless American accents. (tongue in cheek rant.)
