Here's something handy:

The last time I checked about an hour ago:

It's not just you! [forums.macresource.com] looks down from here.

I have it bookmarked.

Although this site has been iffy recently, sometimes it isn't their fault.
Astound routes through Qwest, and Qwest is often iffy.

Here is the Forum's IP address, in case one suspects nameserver issues:

69.64.140.73

Some may find this useful.

WTF? I tried posting, and I got redirected to go.away.
That's just plain rude!

You can all blame Microsoft. Bing is crawling the site and it is taking Phorum down. It's being worked on.

Safari can’t open the page “go.away” because Safari can’t find the server “go.away".

Go.away?

For a few minutes, I contemplated life without this forum. Not a pretty picture.

Yeah, sorry about the whole 'go.away' thing. Sometimes a single asterisk can really ruin one's day...

Is there a way to compensate the site admins for their work? I'm sure Larry pays them top dollar, but it might be nice for us to buy them a fruitcake or something for Christmas.

Hell no, commercial fruitcakes are utter rubbish.
I make an excellent fruitcake, which is much more cake than fruit, and should be eaten in slivers, served with tea at just the right temperature.
I think that I've posted the recipe here before; I'll have to do a search.
Google is quite good at that.
Bing, not so much.

It's bad when this site goes down. I canno' get anything done.

Fruitcake eh, eustace? Yeah post ye recipe. Oh me, when I was a kid, I used to love it when my mother made fruitcake for Christmas. It was real homemade and I could tell her how much of certain things to put in or leave out. I never liked all that candied cherry kind of mess, so I'd have her leave that out... Mmmmmmm... Now, wha' in the world does fruitcake have to do with phorum being down? I know, see, we even come here to learn about good fruitcake!

Up, down, up, down,

Be careful, you're going to get Racer X excited.

"In science it often happens that scientists say, 'You know that's a really good argument; my position is mistaken,' and then they would actually change their minds and you never hear that old view from them again. They really do it. It doesn't happen as often as it should, because scientists are human and change is sometimes painful. But it happens every day. I cannot recall the last time something like that happened in politics or religion." (1987) -- Carl Sagan
