Funny.

I played the video for my wife, told her in advance it was pretty terrible.

She thought the Echo would run $250, and that the ad wasn't all that bad.

When I told her it was $99 for Amazon Prime, $199 for others she said she'd probably want to buy one.

Very interesting - she's not one that uses Siri much via voice command.

I'll be getting one (esp. for $99). I don't expect miracles, but it's a cool device with great speakers, supposedly, so could be used for so much besides just Siri-like questions.

If nothing else, I'll just pass it along to my parents or something to use. They'll enjoy it for some of the simpler stuff (weather, sports scores, etc.).

Similar thing, but I am more excited for Jibo to get here. At least it has a screen and will have some personality and interactions to actually feel like it is supposed to be a part of the family, sort of.

I'd be a little more concerned if it just picked up a fault in the AE35 unit, and that it's going to go 100% failure in 72 hours.
