Try to include a screenshot showing the item(s) and date from your Amazon order history. Here is my first ever order:

My current account only has a history going back to 2012
I don't see any way to search by a name or address I would have used in the past and I sure as heck don't remember any passwords attributed to my old apple mail addresses or amazon accounts that are long gone.

January 15, 1998.

Amazon saves everything. just go into Your Orders and select the first year available. of course, this assumes you've always used the same account - which i have.

Yeah - that's the problem here. My 'first' Amazon account was shared with a partner, and that email/account have long been inaccessible to me... Current account has nothing older than 2002.

May 13, 1997: "Barron's How to Prepare for the Stockbroker Exam : Series 7"

I still remember when it arrived.

It was not a very good book, although I did pass the exam the following year.

December 5, 1998... The Filemaker 4 Bible.
Pretty sure I had another account that I lost access to that I ordered from the previous year, but i'm also pretty sure I only ordered one or two books prior to the Filemaker Bible.

Prior to Prime, I pooled a big order into one shipment. This was only part of it. There were a couple more books and dvds. It was from December of 1999, and our first child wasn't born until a few months later, so I must've been stocking up:

I had a work account for a few years before opening my own and would (with the OK of the owner of the company) order personal stuff through that with my own credit card. The work account login info is long gone but I'm sure my first personal purchases were CDs and books.

My first order on my own account was a decoupage book on March 16, 2000.

Yeah, I remember that. People were wondering just how Amazon was going to compete with those like Powell's that had been in the book business for a long time. Remember when Jeff Bezos was called Jeff Bozo? I still think that Amazon is a Ponzi scheme.

Anyhow, my first purchase from them was in 2003, and it was a book. I didn't buy anything from them in 2004. In 2005, one order, and it was a used CD. 2006, two orders. 2007, one order. 2008, two orders. It was not until 2009 that I actually started buying from them more frequently.

In the past couple of years, I've been buying a lot less from them since I can usually find better prices elsewhere. This has a lot to do with sales tax - now that Amazon generally charges for this, paying a higher price for something from someone else without the sales tax often ends up being cheaper. This is often true even if I have to pay shipping. Another problem I have with Amazon is that their search engine has to be about the worst one there ever was. It's far easier to buy from a site that specializes in certain types of merchandise with an easy to use hierarchal setup.

I found out Amazon did electronic banking when I was in a recovery facility most of 2011. First order was guitar strings and a Sony 8gb mp3 player. That was a lifesaver when laid up 20 miles from home.
