Hey Siri

I have been aware of the existence of Hey Siri but I have never used it until today. I have to say I am very impressed. Mostly I am using it to send messages or to add reminders. What do you use it for?

1. I use it at night to determine what time it is -- my uncorrected vision is so bad that I can't see my clock, so Siri comes to the rescue. I'm getting sick of her snarkiness, e.g., "It's 3:20am. You woke me up!" and "It's early -- 4:03am".

2. I use it for reminders (mostly in the middle of the night, when I think of them!).

3. I use it to reset my alarms if I want to sleep longer in the morning.

Great for navigation when she understands the address. "Hey Siri, take me to ...." [address, 'home' and so on]

Just wish it worked when the phone wasn't plugged in. I get why they set it up that way, but it would make it a lot more useful.

I say "Strawberry Music Festival, Nevada City, CA." and it gets me the program for the four day event!

a few weeks ago i was driving around and i saw that Siri kept waking up expecting a question. i keep my phone in a dashboard holder and it was plugged in. i finally figured out that I was listening to an NPR news report on troubles in the middle east and the phone was responding to every mention of "Syria." pretty funny. at one point Siri starting printing what the reporter was saying.

I've never set mine up, but want to. Does it walk you through the steps to do that?

What do you use it for?

Alarms, reminders, sending text messages, tweeting, opening navigation apps, making phone calls and setting parking timers.
