I just discovered a widespread plagiarism conspiracy - what is to be done?

I was just doing some news reading at Google news and discovered an interesting article at postpioneer.com that was so poorly written, I searched to find a better one. Later, I find another interesting article, also at postpioneer.com - also unreadable... then I wonder...

Yes, it's clear that these articles were ripped from the original source, then put though a 'thesaurus machine', then published on postpioneer.com. Then I find yet another, this time from bulletinstandard.com, but using the exact same formula.

It started here:

Your Finest Apple Watch Glimpse However In 4 Official Videos
Will the Apple Watch be so radically distinctive we won’t realize how to use it at 1st? Probably so: Apple has produced a series of videos to teach Watch-wearers how the interface will work—videos which give us the greatest appear yet at what our wrist-laptop or computer future could hold

Next I read this weird headline and click it just to see what the hell it's trying to say:

Ervin Santana, Twins pitcher, banned 80 games for constructive drug test
FORT MYERS, Fla. &mdash The Minnesota Twins spent $55 million on Ervin Santana to bring some considerably-required talent and knowledge to their beleaguered starting rotation.

The '&mdash' is a clear indication that this had been translated badly at least once. Umm... "constructive drug test"????

It doesn't make a lot of sense - I stop reading and go elsewhere...

Another crazy headline:
Frustrated magnets: New experiment reveals clues to their discontent
Enlarge A crystal of frustrated magnet (Tb2Ti2O7). Credit: Jason Krizan

An experiment carried out by Princeton researchers has revealed an unlikely behavior in a class of materials called frustrated magnets, addressing a long-debated question about the nature of these discontented quantum supplies.

The perform represents a surprising discovery that down the road may possibly recommend new study directions for sophisticated electronics. Published this week in the journal Science, the study also someday could enable clarify the mechanism of high-temperature superconductivity, the frictionless transmission of electricity.

WTF are you talking about???!!!

SO I do some googling and find that this article was ripped word for word from Princeton Journal Watch a blog that resides on princeton.edu. Word for word EXCEPT random words have been switched with badly chosen substitutes.

The original phrase 'quantum materials' was changed to not quite sensical, 'quantum supplies'. 'The work represents a surprising' was changed to utter nonsense, 'The perform represents a surprising'.

And on and on... it's clear that someone has created a machine that rips stories from the web, change a word or two, then republish as original work. At the bottom of each story is, "Our editors found this article on this site using Google and regenerated it for our readers." That ain't adequate.

Oddly, one site claims to be in KY, the other in CT but neither site has any 'local' stories - the KY site has a story about a 12 and under canadian girls hockey team o the front page = that ain't KY news and neither site has a working 'about' links. Both show the same gmail address as a contact - one even has a "Content COPYRIGHT COMPLAINTS" link at the top - there is a scam afoot, but I can't tell what it is... gathering username/password combos?

has anyone seen anything like this? Know what's going on?

A google search shows this email address used for whois info on several sites all over the world...

"What is to be done?"

Best thing you could do is to alert the copyright holders of the original stories. They may tell you they are already aware of the theft, but they might not be, either. I expect this kind of thing is pervasive, and hard to deal with.
