What to do with an old Laserwriter IIf

In its day this was the king of all lasers. Today, my $75 Epson laserprinter runs circles around it. Without a USB or an ethernet connection, it just sits in my closet.

Is this destined for the landfill or can it be re-purposed for someone somewhere?

Ideas?

You could put a IIg board in it. That being said, I just Freecycled two IINTXs.

Hate to say it.. I got a lot of really good use out of my LaserWriter IIg...
But any more, they've really gotten too old to be THAT useful.
They're power hogs, not fast, PS level 1 (maybe it was level 2 for the F and or G)...

IF you can scrounge a IIG board to put in that IIf, you'll get a bit of improvement.. inclucng the Ethernet port.
But I wouldn't spend much money on it... sad to say.

ditto mstudio & Paul, IIg'ed the ntx's until they needed work, then donated the IIg boards to continue life elsewhere, then turned remaining LWII hulks in to free tech dump locales. that said, and as noted, if you can find a IIg board to go with, it will be easier to rid your closet of its boat anchor...

Which "$75 Epson laserprinter", what model? I can't believe a new laser printer is that cheap.

Sorry, It is a Samsung not an Epson. And it was $89 A/R.

Not a bad little printer. Does everything I need for a home printer.

I guess it is off to the municipal recycle center for the old LW II.
