"Switch Views" and that problem goes away...

Have you selected "Threaded View" in your profile? You might want to deselect it for now.

I brought this up earlier today. I have changed the way I view the forum because I can't take scrolling past all the stickies. But I would REALLY appreciate a better solution than having to give up my preferred method of reading this forum, since I already had to give that up at dealmac. I am beginning to feel persecuted. :-D

This does not happen on my machine (G5-Safari)

---###@@Q@***&&^%^$#@

It did happen when I switched views.
Nope, I don't like it either.

Thought the threaded view would be evident. Threaded view on "the other board" handles it MUCH better.

Sure I can switch, but then a whole other pile of issues show themselves.

Oh?
What issues are you having with the flat view?

I've grown so used to and like the Flat view that I often forget there is even another view available..

Though I agree that there SHOULD be something more elegant for those that DO prefer the Threaded view.

1. No way to see who has posted to a thread without opening it.
2. There's no way to go directly to new responses without scrolling past previous ones.
3. Can't see the subjects of responses without clicking on the thread.
4. Can't copy/paste links to a specific post.

Probably some others that I'm forgetting.

I like the threaded view. For the same reasons M A V I C has given. I know there is a way to have the Stickies remain flat even though one is viewing the forum in threaded view, because they do it at dealmac and this place is using the same software...

Well...

Those aren't "issues" so much as "design features"... but I get the idea grinning smiley

You know the term; "It's not a bug, it's a feature"?

I DO hope that the "Sticky Bug" is fixed for those that prefer that view though.
Never could get used to it myself, but options are good!

Show of hands--- who actually contacted the management directly?

I suffer from the same sensitivity that you do. A few nuggets of wisdom were shared with me and I'm "trying" to incorporate them into my life. First, remember that nobody can hurt your feelings unless you let them. You can always reject what is being forced on you emotionally.
Second, nothing changes unless you change it. If you don't want the behavior to be repeated then you need to take action. Otherwise the kid has learned that his behavior is the way to get things done, because everyone lets him get away with it.
In the meantime I sympathize because I've been there.

When they had the feedback thread up, I posted in there about it.
