He had flash on. Had to make the topic shorter to be seen...

"We tested the effects of browsing with and without Flash on several major browsers. Enabling Flash is, in a word, catastrophic"

Why convert your site to HTML5 when you can continue investing in a dopey solution? (LOL)

Well, web developers what's the issue here?

Dude, you just hate Adobe. The problems Flash causes justify your irrational intensity. Google/Microsoft/Adobe. The evil fantasy.

Maybe AA hates Adobe (and so is using Flash as a scapegoat), but Flash can certainly cause problems. Then again, so does heavy JavaScript, but hardly anyone would advocate turning off JS.

Edit: Regardless of AA's personal reasons for posting, easier to debate the point, rather than try to divine potential biases.

P.s. I am one of the crazy people who advocates filtering JS…

Flash may not have been utter garbage when Steve Jobs declared it so, but in the years since, it has definitely gone downhill... Either towards or deeper into utter garbage depending on your perspective.

I don't like Flash all that much either when it's misbehaving. It's neither here nor there for me. It doesn't wreck my computers. However, if it's not Flash, it would be some other reason for AA to diss on Adobe. And it's not wrong to hate them for whatever reason, it's a free country. Everybody just needs to be honest and real. All of these companies have good products and they have bad products. When they're all basically the same, picking on one over the other makes little sense.

Flash has rendered the last 2 pc laptops I have used unusable on the web. This got worse with the version 17 update. It sucks when you have a site that doesn't run an alternative. One of those I helped uses it for online school and a Mac made things workable but still slow. The PC was one plugin crash after another.
