Woke up this morning in Sedona Arizona! Beautiful!

Harrowing road trip. Couldn't do the 500 miles in one day, so we stayed in Palm Desert overnight in a "sleazy" last minute hotel.

Great breakfast at Wilma and Frieda's cafe. Back on the road with a stop at the Morengo Casino's buffet for dinner. Amazing array of really good food.

Falling asleep at the wheel, so Mavis had to drive for a while. Vowing to never do a long road trip again.

With me driving again, we finally made it the the resort where we are staying.

Bitter cold at night, but shirt sleeve weather this morning. I will post more later.

GeneL,
Sedona is beautiful with the clear skies and red dirt.
FWIW - You passed right by me on the I10 near Washington Street on your way out.

Great, Gene. That is, IF you did indeed take a road trip. But I'm not so sure...

Beats the heck out of waking up in a puddle of vomit.

I hope you are not driving much. Driving while sleep deprived is equivalent to driving while intoxicated. Be very careful.

Last night we found one of the only places open after 9 PM using my Google maps app. Almost across the road from where we are staying. Hideaway House was a great find. Cozy and it had the best pizza that we've had in years. (I hate autocorrection, don't you?)

Pace Yeats was recommended for breakfast was (see what I mean. I wrote Places and it gave me "Pace Yeats") grrr!

More later. Sorry that I missed you, Carm.

My wife goes to Enchantment Resort/Mii amo spa every year in Sedona. She loves it out there. One of these years I'll make it out there with her. Spend some time at the Vortex.

Enjoy!!

If all goes well, we will have breakfast on Monday morning at L'auberg, a most beautiful place where we have dined many times in the past years when we visited Sedona. The restaurant is part of a lovely hotel. It's situated on a fairly large stream (they call it a creek. It's overhung with trees. So beautiful.

If it's not too cold we will be able to eat outside on their stone patio, right next to the creek. In the past, there have been ducks swimming around near where we were eating. Really special experience, not to mention that the food has always been exceptional.

One glitch, the oxygen concentrator that was delivered to the hotel by a local branch of Lincare, was so loaded with tobacco smoke that using it would be like smoking 10 packs of cigarettes. I have called the local branch, but it's so late that I may not receive a replacement tonight.

The back story on this is that my father was a chain smoker, so I was exposed to second hand smoke from the time I was born. In my 40's I began to exhibit symptoms of asthma and COPD, which have worsened over the years. Now I have to sleep with a BIPAP machine and oxygen. So, I am worried that I may not get a replacement concentrator tonight.

One way or another, if I feel well enough, Mavis and I have a lot other sightseeing to do. The trees all around have turned glorious colors. Previously, we have visited in the spring, so this is our first experience of Sedona in the fall.

I would post pictures, but my go to place to upload photos has changed in a way that has kept me from sharing my pictures. Darn you Flikr.

Anyway, I will see if I can do much with my new SX5OHS. I've had some reservations about this camera. After using a 20D, even though it's dated, with several excellent lenses, I find that the viewfinder of the SX5OHS is difficult for me to adapt to.

That's it for tonight. I probably will make it through the night, but may not be feeling so hot in the morning.

We'llopez@anatomicglobal.com see?

I hate autocorrection! I wrote "we'll see" and look at what it did!

Grrrr!

I'll have to take that under advisement?

But thank you...

Actually, the best thing that I use as a sleep aid are the opening scenes of Woody Allen's "Midnight in Paris." Both the visuals and the music combine to create a magical loveliness.

If you haven't seen it, you really should.

You know you can turn autocorrect OFF.. right?
I did that and never looked back... more trouble than it's worth.

Paul, I don't know how to turn off autocorrection on my android phone. I'm using the Samsung keyboard.

I'd appreciate a tip on how to do this.

Thanks.

BTW, one really irritating issue that I have is when I'm typing a post and I get toward the bottom of the "box" my words get lost behind the "Preview " and "Post message" buttons. The text that I type extends beyond the bottom of the box.

I don't know if this is due to a glitch in the forum setup or due to my phone?

Also, the "New private message" alert doesn't go away, even though I have read the message and checked back to make sure that it wasn't for a new message.

Any ideas for a fix?
