Since you asked: Agave and Hummer pix

All from today. The agave will continue to grow those "branches" which have the developing flowers. The hole process will take until sometime this fall.

The hummer has two eggs and she's either really relaxed with my presence or petrified in abject terror. Can't tell which.

Great stuff! How lucky you are to be so close. Hummers are very brave and will come after you if they feel threatened but as long as you're not aggressive you should be OK. How high off the ground is the nest?
No hummers here yet. Hell, never got out of the 40s again today!
Didn't discover ours last year till early June. I had the SX40 with the zoom equivalent of 840mm but I have the SX50 now so if I'm lucky enough to get a nest this year I hope to be able to closer up.

You could hang cell phone dishes off that stalk. That's crazy

Uncle Wiggly and the beanstalk!

That's just scary in its size. Will it get much bigger?

BTW, do you have a hummingbird feeder out nearby?

I still think that plant is from an alien world. I would definitely keep an eye on it.
