FileMaker 12 seems to be compatible with Sierra

FileMaker says "FileMaker 14 and earlier versions of FileMaker have not been tested or certified with macOS Sierra. These products were developed and released before macOS Sierra became available"

But it seems to work fine on my applications.

Global search in the upper right corner of the window was crashing the app for me under El Cap.

Fixed?

How about sending a PDF attachment to email?

Onamuji - haven't tried the global search. Don't know what it is even in FileMaker. But I was able to display a photo from a FileMaker DB and paste it into a FileMaker-initiated email and send it.

You added the pic to the email message after FMP created the new message in Mail?

That's not what's broken in El Cap.

It's when FMP is supposed to add the attachment on its own. It doesn't.

You can reproduce the bug through File > Send Mail... and use the option to add an attachment to the message. Any file that you'd select under El Cap would simply not get attached.

Documented bug:

Wondering whether Sierra fixed it.
