I recognized the styles of the more famous painters as they are of course very characteristic but to show how broken my brain is this morning, I could only remember Rembrandt's *last name* and not his first. WTH?

I had a real jerk for an introductory art history course. He was going on about El Greco and that his real name was Doménikos Theotokópoulos. He was also berating us about how only a few students were actually A students. So, just to be a smarta$$, I used Doménikos Theotokópoulos instead of El Greco whenever we had to identify his work on a test. grinning smiley

Yes. I said my brain was broken.

I could recognize the style of:

Botticelli
El Greco
Bernini
Monet
Brugel
that rem brand guy
Cezanne
Degas

but couldn't think of any of their names, only getting van Rijn for Remmie. To be fair, many of those works are considered the most visually iconic in style or content for each artist so anyone with a bit of familiarity should recognize them but yeah, putting a name to the artist was not working for me today.

I did actually recognize and remember Van Gogh so score one for me!
