RE: Philadelphia Flower Show

Going up to Philly next Saturday with my wife and her friend to see the Phila. Flower Show at the Convention Center. Flowers are not my idea of fun.
Can anyone suggest anything within walking distance to keep me occupied for a few hours while the two ladies stop and smell the roses (groan!). Do I need advance tickets for the Mutter Museum or can I buy them the day of? Suggestions for anything else, besides the Mint, Betsy Ross and the Liberty Bell (already done those?)

Also, a recommendation for a decent restaurant near the Convention Center that won't cost an arm and a leg?

BTW, yes, I already have the tickets and did the Panda Parking thing.

The Mutter Museum sound interesting, but don't know the hours of operation.

The Microcenter at 550 East Lancaster Avenue, St. Davids, PA 19087
is open Mon - Sat 10 to 9, Sun 11 to 6. It's about a 45 minute drive from center city, Philadelphia. I could easily spend 2-3 hours in a Microcenter - something I do about once a year.

Constitution Center. Maybe you invite 45 to come along, he needs to learn about it.

The Reading Terminal Market is A great place to dine informally and just nose around for an hour or so.

I don't know Philly well enough to know what's walking distance from the convention center, but here's two outside-the-ordinary places in Philly:

Insectarium is surprisingly good. Looks like they've added on butterflies since I was there. I assume its the same place. [www.phillybutterflypavilion.com]

Isaiah Zagar's art is something else entirely!

Reading terminal definitely. The rest will require a cab ride. For Mutter you do not need advance tickets, that applies to Barnes Foundation only.
