Coca Cola with real sugar (not corn syrup) in stores now.

The Coca-Cola Company actually has its plants switch to cane sugar instead of corn syrup in some batches to make the beverage kosher for Passover. Thanks to Atlanta's Rabbi Tobias Geffen in the 1930's, The Orthodox Union of Jewish Congregations officially certifies the Kosher Coke bottles, recognizable by their yellow caps inscribed with Hebrew writing.

Sugar Coke has a much better flavor, IMO.

Something to avoid now matter what is used to sweeten it, unless you have no reason to be concerned about your glucose levels. Or your weight.

Thanks to Atlanta's Rabbi Tobias Geffen in the 1930's, The Orthodox Union of Jewish Congregations officially certifies the Kosher Coke bottles, recognizable by their yellow caps inscribed with Hebrew writing.

Rabbi Geffen was the chief rabbi at Shearith Israel synagogue in Atlanta in the early 1900s. This was the synagogue where I grew up and had my Bar Mitzvah.

This became an extra big deal after the fiasco with New Coke and then the release of Coke Classic in 1985-86. Despite its name, Coke Classic (which later had the Classic dropped from the name) was not the same as the previous formulation, as it has corn syrup instead of the mentioned sucrose (or cane sugar) that was in the original formula. Since corn syrup is much cheaper, Coca-Cola decided to use that instead. As Steve G stated, however, they go back to making batches with sucrose this time of year to make it Kosher for Passover.

My local supermarkets always have Coke and Pepsi with sugar. I think it's called Coke real. Not 100%, I don't drink any of it

Only one response? Wow, I thought I'd get excoriated to the ends of the Earth for that! Slow day on the forum, I guess...

Way back in the mists of time (freshman year) there was a psych major whose thesis was just that - no difference between the two. So, I took the challenge.

He lined up 50 dixie cups with marks on the bottom to indicate which was in which. I went through them and sorted them by smell. By the end, the 1/2 ounce pours were so flat it became harder. I did miss one.

I ran into him a few weeks later. He was using the flatbed plotter to produce graphs for the paper (before laser writers and inkjets). The spike on all the plots was me.

Sure there is. Coke teaches the world to sing, Pepsi makes police and protestors become pals.

My husband did this in a bar once, with a selection of five run-of-mill beers. Someone said they all taste alike and he said he could tell the difference and they made him prove it. He named them all correctly, although I can't remember for sure what the brands were at this point. It was along the lines of Budweiser, Miller, National Beer, Carling, Pabst, that sort of thing.
