help me with my nectarines!

For the first year in a while, I have a ton of nectarines starting on my tree. But every year, the tree will get decimated by insects, starting just about... now. Last year was a dud, as has been pretty much every year of the last three when I planted them, but the tree is of sufficient size now that it may hold. out.

What would you garden type folks use to spray the tree? Or, if there are other methods you would use, please suggest.

I am excited, but cautious that i may actually get some fruit this year.

Ask at your local well rated independent garden center.

Or you could post your zip code and the specific genus of nectarine...

A neighbor that runs a pick=your-own orchard across the street says spray every weeekend without fail at the rate on the fruit tree spray recommendation on the bottle. Allow at least one or two hours for the pesticide to dry on the leaves and fruit. Spray just heavy enough to start running off the leaves. As soon as the bees stop harvesting pollen. Usually at petal drop.
Also spray BT once a week until you see no more caterpillrs. Anywhere.
He has a pesticide license and has pesticides to target specifically, additionally but he still hits once a week.
I have a white suit to keep it offf my skin and I used to have a mask but I've just been using a painters mask and watching the wind so I never inhale any of it.

Try to find info on recommended fruit numbers to keep for your particular cultivar. You want a few big fruit not a bazillion itty bitty things. Some fruit trees, like pears will start biennial fruiting ( or whatever they call only bearing fruit every two or three years ) if you let them have too large of a crop.

Wrap the baby fruits in gauze with rubber bands to seal them..
A very old school way to protect them AND no chemicals.....
