Ooma users, how much are your taxes/fees?
Posted by: AllGold

(I didn't want to hijack rob's landline thread.)

Mine are ~$4.99 per month. Seems kind of high.

The part that really sucks is I have a Hub and shouldn't be paying any fees. On Ooma's web site it's listed as a Telo not a Hub. Huh? I need to get this figured out.

$4.87 in NY if that makes a diff.

Call CS at Ooma and have a nice chat with the Philippines or where-evs.

My wifes still shows as a Hub. Mine is a Telo. I think her annual (extra special features she never uses) is higher than my (extra special features that I never use.

But heck, my FiOS bill is only $40 for 25/25, so I'm OK.

$6.23 here in Pittsburgh. I seem to recall it was under $5 not too long ago.

Between $5 and $6.

(Your thread reminds me that I forgot to unplug our cordless phone/answering machine before we left home for nearly two months of travel. Unplugging that would mean the Ooma would take any messages and they would be accessible on-line.)

Follow-up Breakdown:

Sales Tax:
$0.29
Regulatory Compliance Fee:
$1.98
911 Service Fee:
$1.79
Federal Universal Service Charge and Regulatory Fees:
$0.31
State utility tax:
$0.21
State 911:
$1.65
Total:
$6.23

That State 911 fee of $1.65 is new as of 2017. I was right that my total OOMA bill was less than $5 before. Looks like the gov is slowly catching up to the new realities of modern commerce.

Thanks, Ken!

Acer, did you notice you're getting double dipped on 911 fees?

$4.70 here if ever activate the one I've got on the shelf.

Is robo-call blocking available w/o having to pay Ooma an add'l fee?

I don't see why not. I ported another VOIP (packet 8) to OOMA.

Mike,

Yups. My wife moved her number from Vonage to Ooma nearly two years ago. No muss. No fuss.

check your bill. that's what i thought mine was but it's been creeping up since 2014. now up to $5.93. biggest jump up was an additional $1.50 County 911 fee in addition to a $1.79 911 Service fee. wonder if the State plans to get in on that 911 action also. i never use it but somehow, ooma landline, i just can't quit you.
