Well, the pitcher did get the ball to where the catcher set up...

Yes

I can't see that, but I will say that the ball bouncing in the dirt in front of the plate and then up and over the plate was the worst I've seen. My son's little league game.

Yep. Worst ever. Love the 95 Braves references in the comments, though.

I'm betting that umpire was out in the nearly empty parking lot after the game with a car that wouldn't start.

Then, the batter that was erroneously called out helped him get home.

This got me to thinking (uh oh). I wonder how many pitches have been thrown in MLB history?

calculated in 2009:

The average number of pitches per game is about 140 to 150 per team. So let's use 140 for an estimate.

Since 1876 there have been 390,396 games. So...

390,396 x 140 x 2 (teams) = approximately 109,310,880 pitches

Great movie.

This guy threw at his own kid in a father-son game

I don't care to watch baseball in general, but it makes for great movies.

Hey! Hey! Hey! I agree, but if your going to make a list of BB movies, ya better have "The Natural" on it.

One of my all time favorites.
