Headphone repair question.... should I ?

My son gave my wife a pair of 'Beats' bluetooth on ear headphones. Because 'they were broken'. (He's such a brat..). Anyway, the ear cups were just separated from the headphones. A little judicious work with a guitar pick and a credit card and they are nicely inserted back in . But... they are really just in there with friction. And will come out again. So...

Would it be prudent to just run a loop of heavy thread and tighten it down where the vinyl is pushed into the molded slots ?

If you can cinch it up somehow, sure...

I'm still keeping phones around that need those hair like wires soldered together. My kids need headphones and these would be great over the ear unit if I can figure out how to solder tiny wires.

It's actually pretty straightforward, you just need to find a way to pull heat from the wires on either side of the joint so the insulation doesn't melt. A pair of metal tweezers works reasonably well, or a vascular clamp. Ok, hell.. a roach clip, OK ?

Any way to take it apart and supplant the friction fit/pinch with some glue ?
