Help with jammed seat belt

So I use one of these... [smile.amazon.com].. which is a seat belt attachment for the dogs. I've used it many times over the last few years. This last time it had a little difficulty clicking into the seat belt receptacle. Now, it won't come out. No matter how hard I push on the receptacle button, it won't pop out.

Any thoughts as to how to "force" or jimmy this out without busting the seat belt receptacle?

Thanks

Just replace the seat belt receptacle. It is a safety device and even if you get that out it cannot be trusted anymore. They are less than $30 for most vehicles and held in by a single torx bolt. Should take less than 30 minutes. Even if you have a shop do it, it should be under $150.

WD-40 in the slot, smack it a few times with a hammer to rattle the loose stuff inside. Seat belt assemblies collect a lot of gunk over time (especially with kids and pets), Periodically cleaning them out with a vacuum cleaner and sometimes soap and water will help.

What cbelt said, those buckles just get gummed up with hair, dust, etc.

I cleaned with wd and then used graphite or silicone to lubricate.
