I've been there a hundred times and, IMHO, Sioux Falls, although the largest city in South Dakota, has very little to see. Rapid City has all the attractions.

You could go to the airport and watch the lucky ones escaping.

I've actually been there. Kind of stumbled on it on a trip out west and it's kind of interesting.

Haven't been there 100 times but yes Rapid City and surrounding areas have a lot to see. Here are some: [www.go-southdakota.com] depends on what kind of things interest you.

Edit added: about 45 miles Northwest out of Rapid City is Deadwood, which we found interesting place to explore. Then there is Mt. Rushmore, which has changed a lot, you can now walk around the whole area under the carvings. Then not too far away is the Crazy Horse Memorial though not finished it's still very interesting. From Deadwood you can go up into the Badlands a must visit if you are in the area.

After seeing the Corn Palace a few years ago, I'd have to say it's NOT worth driving out of your way to see it. If you're going to drive, visit the Badlands National Park or Mount Rushmore.

You won't make a day of it or anything; but Falls Park is a cool stop.

The Rapid City area is a fine place to visit, but it's nowhere near Sioux Falls. They're at opposite ends of the state, 347 miles apart.

How long will you be spending in Sioux Falls? Honestly its not worth more of a stop to get a meal & then get back on the road to someplace else...

I say that with some experience. I grew up 60 miles from there & lived in the town for 6 months. There was a Brazilian Steakhouse that served a acceptable caipirinhia. I think there is a park with a waterfall. I also think there was a zoo, if your into that...
