Adding Photos to Photos app, and alert that it's a duplicate?

How do I find the original. I try searching for that same name, but still come up with all my photos. I would like to not load a duplicate, but I would like to put the first one already in photos in a place of my choosing.

"Photos" stores all your pictures in a folder called "Photos Library" in your Pictures directory. To see the individual pictures you have to right click on the "Photos Library" and select "Show Package Contents".

Then you can choose "Originals" or "Masters" and pictures are organized in Folders by Years.

I'm afraid to 'monkey' with it at that point.

If its a big problem, there are 3rd party apps to remove duplicates. Several are malware or garbage with paid-reviews so it's hard to say what may be a legit non-harmful app.

If it's just the one photo... Look at the Photos library... See that it's broken up into date/location/event groups? If you know the date/location of that pic then you should be able to find the duplicate pretty easily.
