"Coke Zero" vs. "Coke Zero Sugar" : your thoughts?
Posted by: tenders
Date: September 06, 2017 06:24PM
My thoughts: a definite step backward. I strongly prefer Coke Zero to Diet Coke, but Zero Sugar has a metallic taste that I do not like (and I drank it from a plastic bottle). Not an improvement in any way.

I heard a radio ad for it but have not tried Zero Sugar yet. There was absolutely NOTHING wrong with Coke Zero. I don't know why they had to change it.

If you notice a difference in taste between Coke Zero and Coke Zero Sugar - you're drinking it wrong!

Add 1 part Captain Morgan Spiced Rum to 3 parts Coke - enjoy smiley-music039

I wonder if they have "Coke Zero Classic" as a backup all ready to re-introduce. It's been 32 years since "New Coke", don't they have any people around that still remember it.

Coke Zero is the only non-sugar cola that doesn't taste like crap.

Both have to be pretty awful. Depends on your tolerance for overly sweet beverages. My tolerance for them is minimal. Diet soda is horrid swill.

I make it a point to only drink soda pop at the movie theater.
Never at home, never out to eat with a meal, rarely at a party.

My strong preference is unsweetened brewed tea. Almost any kind.
Green, oolong, black, whatever.

I did prefer Coke Zero at one time, when I partook more often.

Coke Zero's target was the manly man teen. Diet Coke was for the female of the same. Coke Zero has a little more caffeine than Diet Coke. I like Coke over Pepsi. I would love to see a caffeine-free version of either Coke product.

I second that! I don't drink much cola, but when I do, that's the one. It tastes like Coke, not transmission fluid.

Geez. Don't drink Coke. Too much sugar, too bad for your body and your teeth.

Yeah, I was puzzled about that too. I drink fountain drinks daily, about 1/6th regular Coke, and the rest caffeine free Diet.

Aspartame is a methyl ester of the aspartic acid/phenylalanine dipeptide.

It tastes a little better, I prefer Diet Dr. Pepper though.
One of the two is my daily caffeine fix.

Many of the 7-11s and AM/PM mini-marts (Arco-owned) have it.

I blend because just that 10-15% regular Coke takes away the aftertaste of the fake sugar, and its still under 50 calories.

Diet Dr Pepper Cherry is pretty good; as far as diet sodas go, though, I think diet A&W is the only one I actually enjoy the taste of.

I drink iced tea. I think the last time I drank a coke was about 5 years ago, because I was somewhere where it was the only choice I had.

A few weeks ago, I bought 3 bottles of Coke Zero Sugar in an honest attempt to like it, but last night I was in the grocery store and bought Diet Pepsi instead.

CZS tastes like medicine.

Between Coke changing their rewards program and now this screw up, I have no brand loyalty to Coca Cola now

....yeah, Coke screwed up majorly.....they kept reducing benefits [ you could only enter a certain # of points per week ] and rewards got worse.....then they basically abandoned the program........

Coke Zero has a little more caffeine than Diet Coke.

Other way around: Coke Zero/Zero Sugar, 34mg/serving. Diet Coke, 46mg/serving.

You'd better not try any cane sugar, that stuff is all just chemicals:

beta-D-arabino-hex-2-ulofuranosyl alpha-D-gluco-hexopyranoside

but more specifically:

(2R,3R,4S,5S,6R)-2-[(2S,3S,4S,5R)-3,4-dihydroxy-2,5-bis(hydroxymethyl)oxolan-2-yl]oxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)oxane-3,4,5-triol

Scare tactics, whatever. RollingEyesSmiley5
