Does anyone know of a firm that digitizes 35 mm still-film images?

Are you just talking about regular 35 mm negatives or slides? If so, there are tons of firms that do that . One of the best, quality- and price-wise is [digmypics.com]

"In science it often happens that scientists say, 'You know that's a really good argument; my position is mistaken,' and then they would actually change their minds and you never hear that old view from them again. They really do it. It doesn't happen as often as it should, because scientists are human and change is sometimes painful. But it happens every day. I cannot recall the last time something like that happened in politics or religion." (1987) -- Carl Sagan

I've used these guys for years for developing and scanning and they are top notch: [thedarkroom.com]

Depending on how many images we are talking about it could be more economical to get a film scanner and DIY. Here's an article on film scanners: [petapixel.com]
