RIP - SF Author Jerry Pournelle

Author Jerry Pournelle has passed away as reported by Alex Pournelle - [www.nextbigfuture.com]. I have not read his more recent works, but did enjoy a number of his books written in the '70's and '80's. He managed to tell an interesting story.

Him and Stirling made a good go at it, but him and Niven... No better writing team in history.

Back in the 80's, there were two columns I ALWAYS read in BYTE magazine - Chaos Manner by Pournelle and Circuit Cellar by Steve Ciarcia. I saw both at the 83 (?) Trenton Computer Festival.

Jerry was a great writer.

Lucifer's Hammer and Mote in God's Eye by Niven and Pournelle - epic scifi.
A loss, but not as great as others. I wept when Asimov passed.
