Who was looking for that TV? 65" 4K TCL w/Roku, $700

40" more screen area than a 55", so significant if you are looking for a big TV. Add a 3 year protection plan for $33.

Its not the better P or C models with the Dolby Vision, if that matters.

Link's a little messed up in your original post, jdc -- here's the Kinja Deals Page, as well as the direct link to Amazon, which is the "TCL 65S405 65-Inch 4K Ultra HD Roku Smart LED TV (2017 Model)".

I've been seeing TCL here and there; never heard of them, but the price is certainly right.

It's a decent price. Previously $100 more, so the "$300 off" should be taken with a pile of salt.

I have one, as do a few other forumites. Mine has been flawless for over a year. IMO it is better or the same quality as a Vizio or other mid grade and far above all the low end TVs like Sharp, Westinghouse, Insignia, Hisense, etc.

thanks Zoid.

TCL is a huge brand outside of the USA, and their P series have HDR and Dolby Vision, picture ratings have been good.

I have the 55" version of the deal above, its been flawless. Its my "outdoor" TV and looks great, price was more important than picture really. And it was only $250 (after Walmart messed up my order =), so even happier.

A eBay deal and $200 more. Probably have to pay return shipping if t arrives damanged or has a problem. I'd much rather deal with Amazon for the piece of mind.

And for only $200 more I would opt for Sony engineering and quality over that of TCL. To each his own.

Being "the largest TV maker in China" is hardly a ringing endorsement. But as I said, to each his (or her) own.

Thought I saw a TCL 55" at WM the other day for around $350. Color me amazed at how inexpensive these large-screen TVs have become. Bought my 42" Panasonic Plasma circa '09 for $850 or so, still in use and working fine. I knew prices were going to eventually drop like this, it's just the way of things. But it's still pretty cool.

.....not but it demonstrates that it isn't just an 'unknown'......no-name brand........
