Streaks in baseball

Cleveland W16

Los Angeles L8

Interesting.

I would have thought that LA would have had a better chance of winning 100 games than Cleveland.

Baseball has always seemed like a game of momentum to me. If you have it at the end of season, excellent, otherwise...

L.A. temporarily lost several studs at the same time. That doesn't help. Cleveland is just beastin' right now like they did last season.

Could be their year. I'm a Dodgers fan and I'm hoping the same thing.

That's true, but nobody is going to hand it to 'em. They have to keep it rolling after the shift to playoffs mode.

What I find most remarkable is that the Dodgers can lose so many games (14 out their last 15?) and still have the best record in baseball by a considerable margin. That says a lot about what they achieved earlier in the season.

It is what it is.

Damn, Joe D has the second longest hitting streak in the minors at 61 straight! That ball must have looked just a little bit fatter to him than anyone else.
