adobe flash player alternative

I know that HTML5 is the alternative for Chrome and some others, but is there a way to force HTML5 to be the default player.
AFP seems to always need updating and needs 2 steps to install, WTF?

I thought this has been discussed some time back, perhaps even me, but I couldn't find the thread.

Uninstall Flash. Done.

Edit: I don't think that there's anything you can do for Chrome as Flash is bundled with the browser. Until Google decides to drop it, you have Flash in Chrome. I don't use Chrome, so for all I know, they may have already dropped it.

Fritz,

I just uninstalled Flash several years ago, so Safari just stalls if it can't load a webpage. I keep Chrome current and use it ONLY for those webpages that I can't pass up.

What browser are you using?

Change your "User Agent."

In Safari, you can enable the Developer menu.
Go to the Develop Menu > User Agent
Select Safari on iPad.

This tells web sites what device you are using. By lying to them, if they have HTML5 alternatives, it will automatically be served up instead of the Flash.

DP,

In Safari Preferences>Advanced, see the very bottom checkbox.
