Not that I care. Episode 7 was so bad, I've sworn off the franchise.

Still, a bit of schadenfreude for me.

I enjoyed it. It's not high cinema, and I was entertained. I ate up the nostalgia factor, and liked the film overall.

Plus, we got a whole 'nother STAR WARS score from John Williams out of it. And Ep 9, regardless of who directs it, means we'll get another one. So I'm good.

You're good with Eps. 1-3, but Ep. 7 was the one to scare you off?

Safe choice

Williams has always done an excellent job, so it's also the smart choice.

1 was awful, 2 was just bad. By 3, my expectations had dropped to the point where (other than Hayden Christensen chewing the scenery) I could stomach it..

7 was even worse.

Apologies to Marvin.

Don't worry, by the third or fourth re-release of the DVDs, everything will be completely different, and whole story lines may be added, deleted or altered.

Heck, C3PO may be the Tin Woodsman in the 34 disk BluRay DVD set in 2023.

After nearly walking out of 1 in all kinds of disgust (my Dad was smart; he simply chose to sleep through it in the seat next to me), I didn't see 2 and 3. Wait. I may have seen 2. How forgetful it was. And the one from 2-3 years ago: Death Star Redux. Meh. Call me disappointed on that one. Was there yet another Death Star in the one from last year? I think there was. This is how stupid it is to rehash the same elements in each movie. It makes even fans forget. RollingEyesSmiley5

The one from last year was not terrible. But nowhere near as good as 4 and 5, either. The Han-Leia kid...Jesus H on a bicycle, there at least could have been some family resemblance to either parent in the actor they used for the son, yes? I found that character mostly silly and laughable. I kept waiting for Rick Moranis as Dark Helmet to pop out from somewhere and declare himself the Solo kid's real father...as he ripped off his headgear saying he couldn't breathe in it!

JJ...meh. Yeah. Flare. And more Death Star.

You think LUCAS is into revisionist history? How about "The Song of the South"? Disney acts like it never existed.
