I will have to take a closer look and see if it might be a good addition.

For what it does, it seems like a bargain.

I've been eyeing the RX10 III and now it makes sense why that model was available at a $100 discount. I'll be traveling to Europe next summer with my daughter and am looking for a travel camera. I had thought about just taking my Canon 7D mk2 with the Tamron 16-300 lens, but I like the longer reach of the superzoom as well as the 2.4-4 aperture of the Rx10 IV. I got my wife the original RX10 (from a forumite here - thanks!) and I've played with it quite a lot and like it. I think the IQ of the Sony 1" sensor is pretty darned good, I like the pictures that I've been able to get from it.

You could get Tamron's 18-400mm which is 28-640 full frame equivalent. The aperture would be 6.3 at the tele end but it isn't anything the 7D Mark II can't handle in the higher ISO.

When I called the RX10 IV a bargain at $1700, I think that was an exaggeration. Maybe "not ridiculous" is more accurate.

I usually find myself buying more SLR gear and have yet to make the 1" sensor jump.
