Confession

I didn't even open the news today, didn't check Apple.com, didn't even open the forum until now, and I don't feel like I am missing anything. I guess I am finally weaning off Apple stuff.

They seem to be focusing on toys for well to do millenials. I know that is where the money is, but that isn't Apple's roots, nor what made them great.

Where is our mini Tower for professionals, or a real MBP?

It was all about iPhones.

If you dont have a vested interest in iPhones, or need a new one, then yeah, I can see that.

I missed the event live, but it was all released over the weekend thanks to the iOS leaks...

I just checked and Apple sells now 5 yes FIVE models of iPhones.

and that's not counting the PLUS models. That would bring the total to 8.

Thanks to the removal of the headphone jack in the iP7, it's possible the iP6S will last longer than the iP7 in the Apple lineup...

Real professionals don't use "mini" towers. They use he-man full size towers. And Apple has your real MBP right here:

I caught the second half of the September Keynote on my celphone while I was tanning my butt cheeks.
I missed the Apple Watch info. It seems they've renamed the 2 the 3, added a cellular model and fudged prices around a little bit.

"I guess I am finally weaning off Apple stuff."

You are not the only one. I just sold my last Apple related item on CL last week and I am now 'officially' free of the Apple Ecosystem. I really don't like the new path Apple is on and the only say I have is with my wallet. When I pictured myself standing in line for a $1000 phone I knew it was time to get out. I realize that what I do doesn't matter in the least bit but maybe SJ would approve of my moral bravado. Well, probably not...

Of course I've kept my Apple stock so I'm hoping these new offerings from Apple are huge sellers. At this stage I'm quite happy with my Android phone (LG Stylo 3 Plus/T-Mobile) and a Linux home system. I use Windows at work and have no issues with it either. The IT people have our systems locked down, pretty sharp people. Leaving the Apple Ecosystem has opened my mind to finding and learning new ways of doing things so overall I've had a positive experience.

Done for now, I do hope things change but I highly doubt it...

Yep. It took a while, but Apple has finally achieved the Big Blue slander of the Mac: "It's just a toy."

Honestly I've never found the 15" MBP retina to be lacking.

Yes, Steve Jobs's plan has finally come to fruition:
