A few bucks for Apple Watch, a few bucks for hotspot, a few bucks for 1Password, Adobe cloud, iCloud, it seems like everywhere you turn there days you find some sort of subscription.

Tell me how many recurring bills you have.

I agree. Too many to count. smiley-shocked003

Wish they were all $10... I think we have figured near $700 for normal stuff -- TV/net (including hulu, netflix), cell, storage unit, garbage, gas, electric, alarm, gardener, bug guy, AC guy.

Doesnt include "yearly" things like amazon, pandora, flood insurance, etc.

The only reoccuring for my biz is adobe. Everything else is yearly, dropbox, backblaze, hosting, etc.

I'm really done with that. We have super basic, basic cable, tmo family plan that is reasonable ($90ish), and no other unusual subscriptions.

I have really tried rigorously to stay away from rents of any kind. I won't pay extra for cloud storage when I can get 4TB<$100 locally. I won't pay for access to music when Youtube gets me the same for free. It's the principal of the thing - once they get you locked into the rents you don't realize how much you're spending...

Recurring monthly charges I more or less can't live without...
Cable TV+Internet $125
Cell Phones multiple lines two providers $100
Electricity $80
Gas $50 summer $200 winter
Mortgage $toodamnhigh
Quarterly assessed sewer + garbage (not sure if it counts) $100/mo
Property tax bill bi-annual $toodamnhigh
Insurance $200/mo avg
Amazon Prime annually $8.50/mo (pay $100 annually)

Those are all things that I pretty much need to have.
Extras paid for monthly:
Netflix $10
Cleaning service (bi-weekly) $80

Do the math for me I'm too lazy.

Don't forget domain name registrations and site hosting costs.
Costco/SamsClub/BJs memberships.
Annual Girl Scout cookie extortion
Newspaper delivery.
Oh,, and Country Club polo dues.

No one's mentioned these yet.

Its brand new for me as well, Ive been doing it since I was 10. =)

But my carpal tunnel gets aggravated every time I do it. Edge, mow, blow, rake -- and Im on a corner so 15 bushes down the side that need to be trimmed once a month. And 2 giant oak trees + purple plum that drip a billion leaves in the fall. And thats not even the backyard...

I cut the TV/net to the minium. TV is the most basic plan they have, still $70+. Dont even have ESPN. But the wife watches GoT, so have to have HBO and something else on Showtime, so extra for those. Cut the landline too. 3 lines on ATTs lowest plan is still $120ish.

Costco Executive, so it pays for itself. =)

Cord cutter, dumped landline saved me over $150/month recurring. Spending that on Netflix, Hulu, DirecTVNow and related. I'm likely still spending nearly the same $$, but I get to choose better where it goes.

But I'm not yet spending the same on software. We will see - I may get there sooner than I'd like.
