I'll bet Bill Mumy wants to relive other moments.

Cool cool - hopefully it's a good new start vs. the disaster of a movie for 10 or 20 years ago. smiling smiley

They're gonna screw it up....

And I LIKED that movie - despite it's flaws, not because of them, to be clear. grinning smiley
It was FUN.

I also enjoyed the movie. I had hoped it would have sequels or spin off into a tv series at the time.

It will be hard to replace Dr. Smith!

Dr. Smith: Silence, you mental midget.

All original sci-fi concepts have been used up, so why not?

How true. We will never see the likes of the epic season two of Voyage To The Bottom Of The Sea again.

Hey so where can the original Lost in Space TV series be viewed these days? Is it in syndication anywhere or available on streaming? I'd love to expose some of the younger generations to it!

Just so they can understand why one might wildly wave ones arms about while shouting, "Warning, Danger Will Robinson LOOK OUT!"

Dr. Smith: Silence, you mental midget.

David Hyde-Pierce would be perfect in the role.

Now that you say it, he sure would! Gary Oldman was GOOD, but just not QUITE Dr. Smith.

Maybe. He's good and I would give him a chance, but man, Jonathan Harris has some big shoes for DH-P to fill.

Dr. Smith: [to Robot] You bubble-headed booby! You realize what you've done?

Somewhere or the other I was reading a discussion on this new series and based on what info is currently out there, people seemed to be thinking that it's going to be more like the 1994 series "Earth 2" than the original 1965 "Lost in Space" series.

How can they every improve on the original special effects and costumes?

To be fair, the carrot looked more menacing on a blurry, tiny 1968 CRT.

Now-a-days all I can see when I look at Tybo (the carrot) is Cyrano Jones. smiling smiley

Actually, no. I am aware of the series, and have surfed by it, but never watched an episode. It ran during a time when I didn't watch much of any tv.

Well, that explains it.

The Dr. Smith quotes you've cited fit Niles Crane (DHP's character on Frasier) to a T. Really. It's almost as if the Frasier writers wrote them themselves. It's kinda eerie, actually.
