How did they determine it was/is your colon ?

Process of elimination ?

Are you a half-assed grammarian now that you will forever have to go thru life with just a semicolon ?

Hmmm? I'm not exactly sure how to interpret Steve G's remark, but thanks, I think???

Yes, I thanks for the thought, however it was expressed, I will take it with "pleasure."

Please forgive all the extra edits. I am using a new keyboard called "Swift Key" and until now, it has been amazing. It has been so accurately predicting what I want to write, that I just have to tap the predicted words. Strangely, it suddenly began to inject words that I didn't want. I wonder how I can fix this glitch, because I have been appreciative of the previous accuracy.

Just a silly joke, Gene. I figure that with a supporting hands metaphor, one would go awry.

I had one of those keyboards. I ditched it when it began to write better stuff than I did.

billb, I oh my! Ha ha!

Steve G, that's a funny thought. The keyboard writes more creatively than we do? Believe me, from all I see about artificial intelligence, it's not at all far fetched. Elon Tesla seems to feel that we are doomed because of AI. He must have watched to many of the "I'll be back" in movies?

OTOH, I can visualize a cartoon showing the keyboards app's developer sitting at a screen watching the words that I'm typing and taking over. That's a funny image, isn't it? All those keyboards out there that he has to keep up with the proof reading.

"How did they determine it was/is your colon ?

"Are you a half-assed grammarian now that you will forever have to go thru life with just a semicolon?"

I missed acknowledging that one, billb. Another ha ha! from me.

I love how much clever humor (a lot of it very wry) I have enjoyed over the years. Thank you!

... but after I had a good poop I felt better.

The first thing that I did after that was to check in with the forum.

Hmm ...

Rephrased: "I poop; I think of my MRF friends."

Yeah, pal, we're all totally flattered. LOL

Here's my update, I am doing okay for now, so my doctor has said that I can go home on Thursday. He did include a bit of a cloud that he still thinks that I will need the surgery. Since, I strongly feel that I wouldn't survive major surgery, I truly want to do my best to avoid it. This may not be possible because of the "flaw" in my colon. Until now, I had no idea that my colon was much longer than most. Too bad it was my colon and not some other organ. Ha ha!

Anyway, if this problem happens again, I do have the possibility that the same procedure that I just had could allow me to avoid surgery. I have to keep a positive attitude about this and keep my fingers crossed, since the doctor said there's really no way to avoid another episode. As my friend Dan always says, "it is what it is!

Once again, I want you all to know that your support means so much to me.

I would love it if everyone showed up for margaritas, but we'd probably have to start a" go fund me" in that case. Remember this from the MR SoCal Luncheon? hot smiley

Damn, GeneL, that's some crappy news about your poop canal! Glad to hear the highway is back open, and hope you're able to avoid the surgeon's blade....

It's gotta be nice having so many folks cheering for a difficult asshole. Wait - that came out wrong!

We need someone to invent a stent for this, placed via catheter like they do coronary arteries.

I'm very glad things are looking up a bit, sir! :-)

"We need someone to invent a stent for this, placed via catheter like they do coronary arteries." quote: comphernation.

I have four stents in my heart, so I was thinking the same thing.

I wonder if that's feasible?

I'm on a "soft foods" diet, so I will have to figure out how to make that work. I was told by my GI specialist, that it's likely the twisted colon will occur again.

Everything seems so indefinite right now. I wonder if there is any way for me to improve the situation? I haven't been given any sense that there is anything I can do about this. From what I was told, there isn't anything that I can do to prevent a recurrence.

My doctor mentioned both UCLA and UCI as medical facilities that might have something to offer, but I can't drive for now, so I don't know how I would get to either place.

I so appreciate the encouragement that you all have given me, so I hate to be so gloomy. Thanks again for your love and your humor.
