Downloading audio from concert footage on Youtube

I know I used a program to download some live shows, just the audio, to play in the car and at work.

Not commercial stuff, so there isn't a legal problem and obviously I'm not selling or trading them.

The programs that Google brings up, even the "Mac friendly" ones are a bit wonky.

Anyone use a program that will work for this?

Just the audio, I don't have time to veg out and watch a show, I gots works thass gots to be done!

Aren’t there web sites that do this? A Google search indicates several sites will provide an MP3 file after given a URL. Don’t have a specific site to recommend.

You could run an app such as Audio Hijack as the video runs? Not sure how that type of app would work if you don’t have time to run the video, though.

A popular site was recently shut down. What I do is use MacXYoutube Downloader to download the whole video, choosing a small / low res version, then Adobe Media Encoder to convert the whole mp4 into just mp3 audio, great for batches and you can have a watch folder so it automatically processes any new downloads. Then save to a USB thumb drive for my car stereo. You'll have to to ID3 tags manually however. iTunes is OK but slow, lots of free ID3 tagging apps out there. Kid3 is one I have used.

Remember how when you were little
you could just rip off your diaper and
just run around naked and everyone
thought it was so cute and funny?

Anyway, I need bail money.

Second to this. Use it all the time and updated regularly. Works on other sites too.

I'll second KeepVid. Copy the URL, paste it on their site, and it downloads video, or just audio if you want it. Really easy
