For you new iMac owners, cool little USB hub

No not the cheapest thing, and not powered, if that matters -- but handy.

I got one a long time ago, but honestly rarely use it. I only have 3 USB devices -- keyboard and 2 drives -- and I rarely (ok, maybe never) use flash drives.

Yes, looks like it would be cool.

It seems to block 4 vents, is that an issue?

Depending on what’s going to be connected to it, it may require an additional cost (and pretty ugly) external power supply.

This is funny. It's a clever idea, and I'm not knocking it, but it just shows how impractical the rear ports are. That said, I prefer they are the way they are.

Been meaning to ask what's a decent USB hub for us 2010 and 2011 iMac owners? Obviously this one won't work.

Update: Went and looked and I like this one. No more near mishaps with putting an SD card in my broken Superdrive slot.

Yeah, unpowered, but USB 3 has a ton more power than USB 2 -- so would prob depend on what you are trying to achieve.

Its more of thing I would see for flash drives, portable drives that get moved a lot or maybe iDevices if you dont have a cable already dedicated to it.

If I moved to a BT keyboard I would only need 2 USB ports.
