You thought Net Neutrality was under attack?

It's ALREADY broken.

Amazon is ALSO fighting Apple. No Amazon app for the AppleTV despite promises:

I'm not so sure. Youtube just start pushing their TV channels really hard. I almost bought a couple of the 4K Fire dongles for Christmas presents. Now I have to check that they are already Prime users (I know they don't have any Fire devices yet).

This is the kind of crap I've hated about telecommunications forever. Here's a couple competitors you have to choose from (thanks regulators who protect incumbents who prevent competition by preventing access to assets like the publicly owned utility poles!) - who will offer similar but imperfect plans which have tradeoffs and caveats.

I'd prefer a more perfect capitalism implementation - where each vendor had the same widget, at the same price, with the same features...

Seriously, though, Chromecast kinda sucks because it can't do anything by itself (once you "cast" to it don't you still need to keep that connection going on the casting device?) So I need a $30 dollar device to access content that's already on my much more powerful device but which doesn't necessarily have a straightforward way to plug into a bigger screen (or where I don't want to tie it up as just playing back that media.)

Amazon definitely sucks for not making their Amazon Prime streaming app available on Google Chrome devices nor AppleTV. But the Fire TV family are pretty good little Android derivative gadgets which allow sideloading apps like Kodi - which conveniently lets me (mostly) stay out of Amazon content store as I view my DVR content. I also hope Kodi will allow me to continue to view Youtube content even when Google's blocking Amazon device's access.

But this definitely makes me wish I'd bought a Roku instead!

Isn't KODI the software that drags the net for pirated content. I see plenty of "HOT" Fire Sticks online upgraded to get "free new movies"?
