Teleport

I heard about Teleport (http://teleport.abyssoft.com.) on The Other Forum and tried it out as a friend gave me another monitor. The program allows you to use two computers with the same keyboard and mouse. I believe it is still in Beta. Anyway, I find it useful. You have to install it on both computers (and it only seems to work in OSX), and they have to be connected via ethernet or wireless. You can move your mouse from one computer monitor to the other, type text, open cds on the other computer. Not all keyboard commands work (at least not in Photoshop) and if you turn off your computers you have to connect your keyboard to both computers in turn to restart the program, but otherwise it works pretty well. Just a bit of info if anybody is interested.

cheers

Sweet! This is awesome! I've got my iBook and G5 both set up so I can use either one from either one.

Typing this on my iBook. Don't know if I'll actually have any major use, but it's cool.

Just because it has two clutches, shifts faster, uses a torque converter or has near-infinite gear ratios, requires less driver intervention and is more efficient doesn't make it better in my opinion.

From Teleport's website:

Known issues
No encryption of transfers
Right modifiers do not work
Keyboard mapping problems
Fast user switching issues

Yikes! That's dangerous. Can't really use this via the web...or at least, dont, unless you like your data erased. But really cool that it's freeware.
