Who has the most posts?
Posted by: lost in space

I was looking at a few user profiles and discovered that I'm pretty light on posts compared to others close to my forum age. So, who's got the mostest posts?

Who has the most posts that are worth a damn?

"In science it often happens that scientists say, 'You know that's a really good argument; my position is mistaken,' and then they would actually change their minds and you never hear that old view from them again. They really do it. It doesn't happen as often as it should, because scientists are human and change is sometimes painful. But it happens every day. I cannot recall the last time something like that happened in politics or religion." (1987) -- Carl Sagan

Counting all of my aliases over the years, I still doubt that I'm in the top 30.

...Speaking of: I'm likely to retire this non de plume some time soon.

Huh... I'll bet I can write a script to get the username, ID, and posts...

#!/bin/bash
i=1
while [ $i -le 9 ]
do
k=$(curl [forums.macresource.com])
echo "$k"
((i++))
done
exit 0

Now to parse the HTML...

Are you still on tap w/ the 10K posts per pseudonom? or have you come up w/ another meaningful quantification?

Resistance is futile. Evidently some chicks dig long posts. Hanging and sliding is a sub-culture of its own...

What does "Onamuji" mean?

Has to do with a rabbit dancing on a wave in front of the moon.

"On-a-mu-ji" ("Rabbit on a moon-lit water" in MacResource-ese.)

"ji" meaning water in several languages.
[en.wiktionary.org]

Or, the "ji" is just a Punjabi honorific for an able rabbit.
[www.thefreedictionary.com])

You get to pick your favorite.

Onamuji is from Japanese. If it were onna, that's woman. Muji usually refers to non-branded items. Ona, no double "n", really has no Japanese meaning that I know of. Muji can also mean "plain." Without seeing the kanji (characters), you cannot really tell in Japanese.

This is correct for Japanese, but I don't know what Onamuji is intending for it to mean. The name at top left, Shu Kubo, in Japanese and usually in Asian languages, surname comes first, so the kanji has it as names are always in Japanese: Kubo Shu, surname, first name. Don't get me started on things Japan and Japanese...

It's a reference to a myth.

The name on the image is its attribution. I'm using it without permission, but the author deserves some due.
