Liked this caller ID on my iPhone: "Scam Likely"

I've been getting some of those automated calls which pretend that they are actually someone talking to you. Just now, call came in, and my iPhone said, where the caller's name would normally be if they were in my address book, "Scam Likely".

I assume this is something T-Mobile did. Wish it had said the same on the call link on my Mac.

Just called again. Answered out of curiosity, but didn't say anything: "Hi, this is Sam, I'm a homeowner's associate on a recorded line..." then the call cut off. (I've heard this Sam before.)

Kudos to whoever is flagging these calls.

Been getting that filtering from T-Mo for about a year and a half IIRC.

Only noticed it about a month ago with T-Mobile.

Best guess is they're comparing the call billing data with the caller ID. If those two are not close, the caller ID name is overridden. It's really a simple thing for them to do, and I'm happy they're doing it.

There's a great app called 'Hiya' which crowdsources this for any iPhone. Been using it for months - it's great!

pretty sure this program initially was opt-in and around July or August became opt-out

My T-Mobile line has been flagging Likely Scam calls for some time. Doesn't get them all, but the ones it flags are.
