hospital johhnys

At my age, I should know, but I ask the collective wisdom of the forum here: "What is the best/proper/only way to put on one of those stupid johnnys they have you wear for an exam? Wait. I take that back. I know how to put it on. It's the tying part that baffles me. There has to be a trick. More likely there's a secret camera where docs and nurses can watch and laugh as I wrestle with the strings in an attempt to close it.

I thought this was going to be another toilet plumbing question.

I've always heard them referred to as "gowns".

Sounds like the name of a restaurant that never got more than 1 star on Yelp.

You could tie it then put it on. Or don't bother , which is a lot easier, it won't help much with the draft anyway.
Unless you're seeing an OBGYN - then you put it on access front.

or ask for a paper sheet smiley-laughing001

A hospital gown, also called a johnny gown[1] or johnny[2] is "a long loose piece of clothing worn in a hospital by someone doing or having an operation."

"Gown" just seemed too elegant for what it is.

This.

I sometimes tie all but the one at the neck that way and then do the neck after pulling it on like a shirt.

I thought it was poor souls who check in with problems to get nurses to examine them thoroughly.

And why are you in the hospital?

Saint Cloud, Minnesota, where the weather is wonderful even when it isn't.

Put it on backwards without arms in sleeves. Tie the ties, rotate gown to normal orientation, slide arms into sleeves. Got the idea after observing women friends donning bras.

Like Steve G mentioned, I wore dual gowns while doing PT to hide me bum from staff and other patients.

This seems to make the most sense. Thanks. And I'm not in the hospital. I just remember the last time I had a physical and the last time I went for a full-body check at the dermatologist.
