Best HD to put in a busted MiniStack ?

The 2TB HD in my Thunderbolt / Firewire MiniStack (for my mini, duh.) has ceased to be after pining for the fjords for a few months. It's been used as the primary time Machine backup drive for my 2012 Mini. And of course the warranty has expired. Argh.

I figure to crack the case and replace it with a perky drive of equal or greater capacity. Who do we like these days for drives ?

Toshiba here, if we are talking about 3.5” drives. Are you talking about the enclosure that matches the Mac Mini? Does it really have Thunderbolt?

whatever is cheapest, and if its just for TM, I wouldnt spend any extra for a 7200 RPM fast drive.

Are you saying the stack is only a few months old?

Possible drive might have seperate linger warranty, but if replaced they will send you a refurb

It's > 3 years old. I really should have sent it in for warranty earlier, but I was too busy.

Prob out of warranty regardless, most drives only have 2 year warranty these days... =)

I think some of them minis' bridge boards have a size limit, so check before you go up from 2TB.
That said, be sure it isn't the bridge board. I've had them fail and the drive be fine.
Other than that, one that comes with a dartboard or a good warranty.
I prefer and have had best luck with WD, but I just bought a 2.5" USB Seagate.
