cleaning inside of windshield

I can't put it off any longer. The sunlight coming through the windshield only serves to highlight how nasty looking it looks. I'm not a contortionist, so I get frustrated just trying it using my hands with cloth, newspaper, whatever. So I'm looking to spend the $10 and get one of those microfiber-on-a-wand doohickies. Are any of them any better than others? And if there is a better way that's even easier, I'd love to hear about it.

Car in park. Ignition off.

Window cleaner on a paper towel.

Stand up in your seat and stretch.

Move to the passenger seat.

Window cleaner on another paper towel.

Stand up on that seat and stretch.

Done.

Dunno why people miss the "stand up" part. You're not going to reach very far if you're reclined in a seat.

Still can't reach the far corners? Open your door, stand up outside of the car and reach in. You should find that you can hit the corners of the windshield pretty easily.

One of the only times I go into full-service car washes is when I need my interior windows cleaned. Unfortunately, those are all but gone these days around here (all of them are ride-thru & you vacuum).

Make it a good day today.

I live less than 2 blocks from one, but I've never been. I've never really cared about keeping my car shiny. I vacuum it out every six months or so. I probably wash it once every couple of years.

do this, it really works: buy some Invisible Glass cleaner, and some microfiber towels made specifically for glass. the type I use are green and they are somewhat smooth textured, not nappy.

if your glass is truly filthy, clean with an apc first, and then use this stuff.

I bought a Stoner Reach and Clean Tool from AMZ only because it was on promo for $7. this model. Wallys sometimes has the 'brand x' version for $7-9; same exact product with different branding. Bonnets are easy to clean by hand with a bit of Dawn & warm water; wash, rinse, & air dry.

Makes it easy to get to the entire windshield for this old fogey smiley

I've also discovered if the inside is really bad, a pre-cleaning with a m-f towel and 70% Iso really does wonders.
Doors open of course hot smiley

Also I am amazed how many people wear completely dirty eyeglasses. Some of them are even disgusting. One guy was so bad his lenses looked milky. When he got new glasses a few month ago was the first time I saw his eyes. Everyone had the same reaction, "wow".

All vehicles are not created equal. While the windshield may be fairly easy to clean by hand in some cars it can be virtually impossible in others due to the steep slope of the glass or an extremely deep dash.

I've got the invisible glass reach and clean and it works pretty well on the hard ones and makes the easy ones even easier.

All my cars are either convertibles or have sunroofs.

"In science it often happens that scientists say, 'You know that's a really good argument; my position is mistaken,' and then they would actually change their minds and you never hear that old view from them again. They really do it. It doesn't happen as often as it should, because scientists are human and change is sometimes painful. But it happens every day. I cannot recall the last time something like that happened in politics or religion." (1987) -- Carl Sagan

Maybe if you are a midget height impaired.
Or, get stoned and become really small.

You lean forward and bend your knees just a bit. With your arms up in front of you to clean the windshield, it's pretty easy.
