Bring your rain gear if going.

• It is expected to rain all day at Churchill Downs leading up to the Kentucky Derby.
• The track could be muddy and as a result gamblers have started betting heavily on My Boy Jack, dropping him from 20/1 to 5/1 and the second favorite.
• My Boy Jack is one horse with a proven track record on the mud having won the Southwest Stakes pulling away.

Don't know about five hours of coverage. The local stations all broadcast live from Churchill Downs this morning but moved on to regular programming.

It is a two minute horse race, but Louisville has been partying for two weeks starting with a massive fireworks show a parade, a boat race featuring the Belle of Louisville, a steam powered real paddle wheeler (the competitors have dummy paddle wheels), and large star studded parties last night and tonight. Friday was a day of racing featuring the Kentucky Oaks for fillies; Thursday has become The Thurby, the locals day at the track.

To bad about the rain as the outfits are a lot fun; colorful men's wear and ladies with expensive hats and Fascinators.
