Is there a game installed that's trying to connect to friendster ?

Gee. Think it’s time to get rid of all the crap the fraudsters installed?

Wipe the drive, reinstall the OS and restore from the latest backup you have. Anything less and you never know what’s lurking on the drive.

Peter B,

The latest backup may include the problem.

How about putting that IP on a blacklist via Parental Controls. Then see what problems it creates.

I have two recent TM backups on her machine, and a month-old SuperDuper clone. And they may or may not include the problem.

Thus, whether to take a day to wipe the drive and reinstall a virgin OS and then carefully copy over selected data and programs.

Yeah, just keep screwing with it until the fraudsters can install their ransom ware package.

Erase the drive and install the SD clone. If that takes more than a hour or two, you’re doing it wrong.
