I have no problem buying tools from HF, especially anything that will get infrequent use, but a chain saw is something I just wouldn't buy from them. For that , I'm thinking Echo, Stihl, etc...

I got down to "some kind of gauge" before I figured out it was a gag.

1,020,000 of them recalled...
I wonder how many of the 426 that are still functioning they'll actually get back?

The reports indicate that the chainsaws keep running even when turned off.

Well duh, electricity is like that. Shame these things don't have convenient short cords that can be unplugged.
The recall more likely has to do with the high number of defective switches.

That manual chainsaw is probably more reliable than the Poulan one I was given several years ago.

Yup. Cheap tools, or stuff like tarps or zip ties I'll buy from them. Never in a million years would I buy something like a chainsaw from them. They specialize in cheap Chinese stuff.

Good source for specialty hand tools you will only need a few times, but can't do a job without. And cheap tarps.

Don't even think about paying full price. Wait until on sale, and use the countless 20 or 25% off coupons.

That ad is comical, especially the manual chainsaw. This ad should be reposted in the Friday Funnies thread above in case viewers here overlooked this thread.
