Comparable to MacDraw Pro that I used to design our home expansion?

Hal,

You sure? I wanted to give this a try but your instructions don't work under OS 10.11 El Capitan at first. I opened Preview and get the dialog box. The option only showed up after I opened a document of some kind. I don't think this is what MrLynn had in mind.

If I needed an app to design a home expansion, I'd look at Sweethome3D first. Or, give the Draw component of LibreOffice a shot. I think EazyDraw will do the job, too. If I remember correctly, an older version of EazyDraw was able to open MacDraw files!

Yeah, well he kinda asked two questions there. I was answering the first one, "Does Apple Offer a Simple Drawing Program These Days?"

Hal, as Robert says, you need to have a document open to see that toolbar, and you can't create a blank document.

I don't think that GIMP is considered a simple program.

Apparently the current build of Inkscape is not available:

Note: A build of 0.92.3 is not currently available for MacOS. The project welcomes additional contributors with MacOS expertise.

Downloaded it. Pretty neat. But more for freehand drawing, I think. No grid?

Anyone use CADintosh? I see a demo version in my Applications (probably came with GraphicConverter, which I use for photos). May not be simple, though.
